Welcome to the Kennebunk Police Department Internet Web Site. The Kennebunk Police Department is recognized as a Department of Excellence whose members embrace a Community Oriented Policing philosophy as evidenced by our Mission Statement which reads:
We have the honor and privilege of policing a great community. Kennebunk is located along the southwest coast of Maine; 25 miles south of the city of Portland, Maine, 25 miles north of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and 75 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Kennebunk is easily accessed by several forms of transportation. Our community is served by Interstate 95, U.S. Route 1, passenger railway and watercraft. Our year round population is approximately 11,500 and increases significantly during the summer months as our seasonal residents and many visitors come back home. The Department is comprised of 40 employees to include 21 full-time sworn officers, 6 full-time communications operators, 2 administrative assistants, 1 part-time animal control officer and 10 reserve and/ or special service officers.
